The Knife’s Heartbeats is on one of those songs which hits you right in the feels; well for me, anyway, and the adorable New Orleans-based boy/girl duo Royal Teeth have given the 2003 track some indie-pop love. As a fan of the original, and less of the José González depleted acoustic cover, I have always preferred female vocals, and although this cover lacks the cascading neon synths which makes the original so encapsulating, it loses none of the passion.
